[Section 1] The result is a disabling condition, similar to that of patients suffering from chronic migraine, with the same clinical problems concerning treatment and manage- ment [616].
The treatment of this category of patients can be difficult and they need a multi- disciplinary treatment to learn techniques to manage their pain alternatively to med- ications and before than a chronic migraine condition with medication overuse has been induced.
It has been also reported that patients suffering from chronic migraine with med- ication overuse undergoing pharmacological prophylaxis and mindfulness practice showed similar changes in levels of biomarkers and underwent a significant improvement after treatment at long follow-up [617].
The aim of this study was to assess the feasibility of a novel ACT model for patients with high-frequency episodic migraine without aura (9/14 days per month) (with/without medication overuse) (according to the IHS beta 2013 criteria) and its effectiveness with respect to a standard treatment.
